How was Windows 10 originally Activated on the PC? Did it come preinstalled from Factory, was it Upgraded with free or paid Upgrade, or was it a retail re-create and license?

Hi Oscar, if you previously had Windows 10 installed and activated on your PC, then y'all practice not have to purchase Windows 10 . . .

Hi dave, im afraid i practice non know what version of windows it had on it beforehand, i merely reset information technology and assumed it would reinstall the same version as earlier hand, is there whatever way to run into what version was previously on the laptop?

Hi Greg, i believe the laptop came with windows already on it, and didnt require a lawmaking to be inputted, i've tried to troubleshoot the activation key, however it says 'troubleshooting has completed, we weren't able to activate windows 10 on this device, please go to the store to purchase a genuine re-create of windows 10'. I dont want to buy it once more as it costs £120...

Hi Oscar, exercise you mean you used the built in Windows Reset option rather than clean installing Windows ten?
If then there should be no problem with activation . . .
Open the Settings App
Go to System - Nigh
What version of Windows 10 is reported there, is it Home, Pro or Enterprise?
Then in the Settings App, go to Update and Security - Activation
What is reported nether Activation?

Howdy Dave, no i tried to reset via tje settings app nonetheless information technology wouldn't work so i reinstalled windows via a USB drive. Ive done this before on my old laptop and i had no problems which is why im am confused as to why it did not work this time.

Hi Dave, the laptop has windows 10 Home installed on information technology, only i have forgotten what it had on before hand, it is an ex-work laptop, and then does this mean it may have had enterprise on information technology or possibly pro? Thanks.
